AI Usage Tray (AI Usage) — last updated: October 14, 2026
This app is a personal project, built by a single independent developer (not a company), to check at a glance how much of your Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, and Gemini quota you've used. This page explains what data it touches, where it's stored, and what we don't do with it.
What data the app touches, and where it comes from
- Your usage percentage, limits, and reset time for Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, and Gemini. The app opens an isolated browser window (Microsoft Edge WebView2) per service and reads that data from your already logged-in session — it does not use any paid API from those companies, and it never accesses any account other than your own.
- Session cookies for each service, to keep you signed in between checks — stored locally on your own device, the same way any regular browser would.
- Your Telegram bot token and chat ID, only if you turn that feature on yourself and enter them by hand.
Where it's all stored
Everything is stored only on your own device, in the private folder Windows assigns to the app (under %LocalAppData%\Packages\) — there is no server of ours anything gets sent to. This includes your usage history over time (for the Stats chart), your settings, your Telegram token (if you set one up), and diagnostic logs that exist only on your device and are never sent anywhere.
What we don't do
- We don't send anything to a server of ours — we don't have a server or a remote database; this app doesn't "phone home".
- We don't use analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind.
- We don't sell or share your data with anyone.
- We don't access the content of your conversations with Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, or Gemini — only the usage percentage and reset dates, exactly as shown on each service's own usage page.
Third parties involved
- Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), xAI (Grok), and Google (Gemini): the app connects directly to these services using your own already-signed-in session, solely to read your usage. For Gemini, that means signing in with your Google account inside the app's isolated window; the app reads nothing from your Google account other than your Gemini usage. Each company's own privacy policy applies to that data as well.
- Telegram: only if you turn that feature on yourself. The app sends your usage summary to your own bot/chat when you request it (the
/usocommand) or when an alert you configured fires. Nothing else goes through Telegram. - Microsoft Store: the app is distributed and updated through the Store. Microsoft may collect whatever it normally collects from any Store app, under its own privacy policy, unrelated to us.
Security
Your Telegram bot token is stored encrypted (Windows DPAPI, tied to your own user account). Each service's session cookies are stored with the same security Microsoft Edge WebView2 uses for any website.
Your control over the data
- You can delete everything — signed-in sessions, history, settings, and logs — from Settings → My data → Delete my data. The app restarts as if freshly installed.
- Uninstalling the app also deletes its folder and everything in it.
- You can turn off the Telegram bot at any time from Settings.
Children's privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
This website
This website is static and uses no cookies, analytics, or tracking. It's served by Cloudflare, which may log technical data about each visit (such as your IP address) to deliver and protect it, under its own privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
If anything meaningful changes, this same page will be updated with a new date at the top.
